We will read the whole of Wordsworth's The Prelude (1805 version) aloud on March 28th, 2026.
This is an autobiographical poem in blank verse, and one of the most famous poems in English. Absolutely no knowledge of the poem or its writer is required or expected.
This is a collective marathon reading event where everyone is welcome to read aloud. It will be facilitated by Kat Addis and Verity Spott, who co-run the Hollingdean Poetry Group.
We will read the poem without a set order, but with a rough line-limit per go (i.e. 20 lines at a time). You are welcome to come for any length of time, from half an hour to the whole day. Anna and co. will be cooking us a delicious hot meal to share about mid-way through.
Please sign up if you plan to come: sign-up sheet.
